Python for AI
Learn the programming language behind modern AI, from your very first line of code to analysing real data.
7 lessons, about 12 hours, 12-question final exam
About this course
Python is the language of AI. Almost every machine learning library, data tool and AI API is used through Python. The good news: it's one of the easiest programming languages to learn.
This course starts from zero. You'll write code in Google Colab, a free tool that runs in your browser, so you don't need to install anything or have a powerful computer. You'll learn variables, lists, loops, conditions and functions through short, practical examples, then move on to the data tools AI practitioners use every day: pandas, NumPy and matplotlib.
You'll finish by analysing a realistic mobile money spending dataset from start to finish. That gives you the foundation for Machine Learning Essentials and every technical course after it.
By the end you will be able to
- Write and run Python code in Google Colab
- Use variables, numbers, text and true/false values
- Store and process data with lists, dictionaries and loops
- Make decisions with conditions and organise code into functions
- Load, clean, filter and summarise data with pandas
- Create charts with matplotlib and work with arrays in NumPy
- Complete a full data analysis project and explain your findings
Before you start
No coding experience needed. A laptop is best, but most exercises also work on a phone browser.
